Headphone Customization

Since I've been riding the bus & using my headphones a lot more lately, the tangling was starting to bother me. I saw this cute post (Contemporary Farm Girl) & I finally tried it out. It really keeps headphone from tangling! I'm very happy with it.

The original post has a great video showing the process.
I used 3 skeins of embroiderer floss (I used 3 colors I liked together)

Another post with great instructions is on Apartment Therapy.

Lard Soap - First Try

Cold-Processed Lard Soap

I made a small batch of soap with Lard as the fat. I based this recipe from Mother Earth News:
Yogurt cups prepared with baby oil (mineral oil)
I halved the recipe and used some individual yogurt containers.

Purple Peach-Lard Soap:

1 lbs Lard
2.2 oz. Lye
3.5 fl oz. distilled water

Extras:

Red and Blue coloring and Peach F.O.

0.5 oz. Peach F.O. (Fragrance oil)
10-15 drop blue liquid coloring for soap
10 drops red liquid coloring for soap

Invitation Makin' (DIY)

Here's some pictures of us at the final steps of our DIY invitation making. Almost Done!-Just the addresses left.

Picture one: Assembling.

Picture two: I'm working really fast (note the blurry hands)

Picture three: Jesse checking out his stamping ability. (Good job Jesse.)

note: Yes, that is Lord of the Rings playing in the background, it seemed fitting.

Some more invitation ideas, etc.

Cute Chocolate Bridemaids dress. (to see how chocolate and mauve look together.)
Here is the Mauve Color (or close approximation)

I got some LoTR Fonts to really make the inviations look like us. It's hard to choose a type though. Some opinions would be nice. Here is a link to the Lord of the rings fonts.http://www.thehutt.de/tolkien/fonts.html

To Veil or not to Veil

While researching I really discover how much I don't know about this wedding stuff. The one decision that I have made for the entire wedding so far is regaurding my headware. I want a circlet (see previous post). My initial thoughts of the Veil was that if I had the circlet it is not needed, and buying one from a gown store I know it would be overpriced and made oversees probably (basicaly not inconjuction with our wedding's overall theme).

Then,my Future-MIL offered to make me a Veil. This removed all of the aforementioned reasons not to have a veil, now thinking about it, It would definately make me feel a lot more 'Bride-y'. BTW, She is a fabric artist, and I'm sure it would be exactly what I want. If only I knew what I wanted (short, Long, Birdcage, angled, over my face) I'm still not even sure what all that means. I'm also not a extremely put-together sort of dresser, If I like it I will wear it (ie. bright orange sneekers with my work dress pants).

So does a veil and circlet clash? Or is that a silly question?

My guess my first step if to find my dress!
